Bone Graft
Rebuilds lost jawbone so implants have a strong foundation, or preserves bone after a tooth is removed.
When a tooth is lost, the jawbone in that area can shrink. A bone graft adds material that your body uses to rebuild bone, creating a solid foundation for an implant or preserving the ridge after an extraction.
IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU?
You may benefit from a bone graft if you're planning an implant and your 3D scan shows thin bone, or if you're having a tooth removed and want to keep the option of an implant later.

What to Expect
Grafting is done with local anesthesia, often at the same visit as an extraction. The graft heals over a few months while new bone forms. We monitor healing with imaging before placing the implant.
Common Questions
Quick answers to questions we hear often. See all FAQs
Where does the graft material come from?
There are several safe options, including donor and synthetic materials. We'll explain the best choice for your case.
Is a bone graft painful?
Most patients have mild soreness for a few days, managed with over-the-counter pain relief.
Do all implants need a bone graft?
No. Many patients have enough bone. Your 3D scan tells us whether grafting is needed.
